TEN-T Days Exhibition in Rotterdam
During the 20th to 22nd of June the TEN-T Days 2016 were held in Rotterdam at the Van Nelle Factory. This event was sponsured by the European Commissioner for Transport Violeta Bulc, in cooperation with the Dutch Presidency of the Council of the European Union, Minister for Infrastructure and the Environment Melanie Schultz van Haegen, which invited Ministers, Members of the European Parliament and key stakeholders to Rotterdam to discuss the development of the Trans-European Transport Network, with a special focus on the Core Network Corridors, ERTMS and Motorways of the Sea (MoS), their implementation and financing.

Launching Event in Vienna: Deepening the Dialogue
On February 23rd at the Hofburg Palace in Vienna, a major step was taken towards recognizing the importance of the European Rail Freight Corridors. It was a memorable day that marked the launching of three new Rail Freight Corridors (ScanMed, Baltic-Adriatic and North Sea-Baltic) as well as the extension to Germany of the Atlantic Corridor.

PCS Next Generation Training Session
To help our customers with improving their knowledge of PCS, and more specific the PCS Next Generation features , the North Sea – Mediterranean (2), the Mediterranean (6) and the Atlantic (4) Corridors have jointly and together with RNE organized a training. This training session was held in Infrabel Offices in Brussels on January the 27th and the 28th and it was very fruitful for applicants, Infrastructure Managers and to the Corridors as well as many experiences were gathered, not only about the new PCS tool but also about the products and processes of Rail Freight Corridors.

Results of MAC 2014 for the Atlantic Corridor
It was with great joy and pride that on the 10 July 2015 the CEF Coordination Committee had given a favorable opinion on the funding application submitted by the Atlantic Corridor to the Multiannual Call 2014 concerning projects of common interest under the Connecting Europe Facility in the field of transport.
This award is seen as recognition for the good and dedicated work performed by all Partners of the EEIG Atlantic Corridor.

On the 26th of June 2015 the 3rd General Assembly of the original EEIG Rail Freight Corridor no° 4 was held in Frankfurt, paving the way for the 1st General Assembly of the new EEIG Atlantic Corridor which took place in the exact same day and place.

Atlantic Rail Freight Corridor takes part in TEN-T Days Exhibition
TEN-T Days 2015, promoted by European Commission, took place in Riga during the last 22nd and the 23rd of June 2015.

TheWork Plans of the 11 European Coordinators for the TEN-T have now been finalized, establishing the basis for action until 2030.
Included in this plans we find the Atlantic Corridor Work Plan prepared by the European Coordinator Carlo Secchi establishing all major investments to be implemented as well as the strategy to be adopted for the Atlantic Core Network Corridor within the next 15 years.

From East of China to the South West of Europe
Congratulations to IRS (InterRail Services GmbH) who had launched the first direct rail freight between China and Spain, which thus constitutes the longest route in the world for a freight train.
It has departed in November 18 from Yiwu in China, a train with 40 containers, 600 meters long and weighing more than 1,400 tons that reached his final destination in Madrid on December 9 traveling more than 13,000 kilometers.

European rail freight corridors conquer new territories
Transport Ministers of thirteen countries held a signing ceremony on October 8, 2014, in the margins of the Transport Council in Luxembourg attended by Vice President Siim Kallas. The aim of this event is to strengthen the Executive Boards of four rail freight corridors and extend the scope of these corridors crossing Europe.
