Atlantic Core Network Corridor work plan and ERTMS work plan published by the European Commission

Atlantic Core Network Corridor work plan and ERTMS

TheWork Plans of the 11 European Coordinators for the TEN-T have now been finalized, establishing the basis for action until 2030.

Included in this plans we find the Atlantic Corridor Work Plan prepared by the European Coordinator Carlo Secchi establishing all major investments to be implemented as well as the strategy to be adopted for the Atlantic Core Network Corridor within the next 15 years.

Congratulations to IRS (InterRail Services GmbH) who had launched the first direct rail freight between China and Spain, which thus constitutes the longest route in the world for a freight train.

It has departed in November 18 from Yiwu in China, a train with 40 containers, 600 meters long and weighing more than 1,400 tons that reached his final destination in Madrid on December 9 traveling more than 13,000 kilometers.

Transport Ministers of thirteen countries held a signing ceremony on October 8, 2014, in the margins of the Transport Council in Luxembourg attended by Vice President Siim Kallas. The aim of this event is to strengthen the Executive Boards of four rail freight corridors and extend the scope of these corridors crossing Europe.
